1969 Royal Enfield 750 Interceptor Series II in stunning condition with only 679 actual miles. Mint MINT MINT!!! CONDITION BIKE; previously on display in the Guggenheim Museum and The Museum of Modern Art in New York City. No modifications from factory stock and easily the finest Interceptor in the country, probably in the world. Tickle the dual Amal carbs and he 750cc engine starts immediately and settles into a lopey idle with a deep aggressive exhaust note from the factory dual chrome pipes. Pulls HARD from right off idle and feels stronger than a Triumph Bonneville and torquier than a Norton Commando. Rated at 60 horsepower, these Interceptors have long stroke engines (bore & stroke of 71 & 93 mm) with more torque than any British bike I've ridden. They are content to plonk along at 40 mph in high gear and will pull right up to 120 mph when you twist the throttle.
Perfect chrome gas tank, perfect chrome headlamp, perfect chrome fenders, perfect chrome factory exhaust. perfect factory decals, perfect painted frame. All factory original and there are no flaws anywhere. No oxidation on the engine cases or any of the metal parts. Perfect front forks perfect chrome wheels, perfect chrome rear shocks. Regardless of how picky you may be, there simply are no faults. THIS BIKE IS FLAWLESS.
Everything works properly. The mechanicals have been checked over by Bob Bancroft of Bancroft Vintage Motorworks and he installed a new battery and adjusted the carburetors. The lights, the horn, the brake light, the speedometer/tachometer/ammeter, the brakes, the clutch; EVERYTHING works correctly and feels like new. The tires are correct Dunlop Gold Seals. With only 679 actual miles the bike is not broken in yet but it rides wonderfully and is a pleasure on a country road. Guaranteed to win Best-of-Show at any bike event or bike night. The absolute best-of-the-best and one of the last Interceptors made before Royal Enfield went of business in 1970.
